New chemical permit for olive use
The following permit has been issued by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA):
Please note that the APVMA has approved the permit extension covering the application of dimethoate to olives for oil production only. Dimethoate is a Group 1B insecticide and must be applied in accordance with the permit conditions, and used in rotation with other approved pesticides as a resistance management strategy.
A copy of the permit is can be downloaded at https://portal.apvma.gov.au/permits . A full list of approved chemicals for use on olives is available on the AOA website at: http://www.australianolives.com.au/article-detail/chemical-permits.
