  NASW-NJ Celebrates Phil Murphy's Win!

At NASW-NJ, we are very excited to have Phil Murphy as our Governor-Elect and Sheila Oliver as our next Lieutenant Governor.

They have been very supportive of our causes and will help usher in a new era of economic and social justice for our State.

In addition, we are pleased that Sheila Oliver is a social worker by training, and Dotty Murphy Egan, Phil's sister, is also a social worker. We look forward to working closely with the new administration.

November 1st - December 15th

The open enrollment period for the health insurance marketplace is significantly shorter this year - November 1 to December 15, 2017 (it's normally three months). The Trump Administration has also cut funding for advertising and enrollment assistance. CONVERSATION:  DAYDREAMS:
 CONCEALED AND REVEALED IN THERAPY

Everybody daydreams.Daydreams revealed in therapy, however, can be understood as valuable information to understand a patient's personality including character traits, symptoms, and distress. Daydreams are different from nocturnal dreams.

One of the  most important aspects of daydreams is that daydreamers are often concealed in therapy. As a result, daydreams may be missed by the therapist as a way of understanding unconscious material. This conversation will elicit a discussion of daydreams in psychotherapy.
