Message from Principal Joe Hansen

Principal Joe Hansen, BCHS Principal and U.S. Air Force veteran, shared a message with the Bishop Chatard community at our Veterans Day Mass.

I like to think of myself as a good person. I try to cover all the bases. I try to be nice to people. I try not to be judgmental. I pray and I go to Church. I was reminded in a recent homily that God does not want us to be content and self-satisfied, so He puts challenges in front of us – opportunities for us to be affirmed as good people or perhaps for us to realize we have a long way to go on our journey.

Host family needed
Have you considered opening your home to an international student who is attending BCHS? We have an opportunity for a loving family for John, a sophomore from China, who loves swimming, playing the drums, table tennis and badminton. He plays percussion in the BCHS band.

Host families receive financial assistance to help provide a bedroom, meals, transportation to and from school, and the experience of living with an American family. FLAG (Foreign Links Around the Globe) is the sponsoring organization which supports the host families and students throughout the process. The FLAG coordinator for Bishop Chatard is Catherine Welch, one of our school counselors. If you'd like more information, please call her at 317-442-8892, ext. 2257, or email cwelch@bishopchatard.org .

Thank you for prayerfully considering this opportunity!
