It's Thanksgiving Basket Time
Basket pick-up Saturday/Sunday, November 11/12
Return baskets Sunday, November 19
It's time for our 18th annual Thanksgiving basket drive. Since 1999, St. Bart's parishioners have donated more than 1,100 complete Thanksgiving dinners to families living in transitional housing with Interfaith Community Services (ICS) here in North County. Pick up an empty basket the weekends of November 4/5 and 11/12 with a shopping list for a traditional Turkey Day meal. Purchase the ingredients and return the filled basket the St. Bart's Conference Room on Sunday, November 19 before the 10:15 a.m. service. Our delivery team will insert recipes and cooking instructions before delivering baskets residents of the ICS apartments in Escondido. If you would like to participate, but aren't able shop or return your basket on November 19, we will happily accept a cash donation and do the shopping for you. Contact  JD Cowart with questions.

Responding Rather than Reacting to Life
An Introduction to Contemplative Practice
Sunday, November 12, 9 a.m., South Parish Hall
Deepening A Contemplative Stance - Practices that uncover the person that God desires you to be.
A "contemplative stance" is, for many, one of the ultimate goals of the Christian life and an outward sign of a maturing faith. At its heart, it is a way of living that opens us up to the Holy Spirit in the everyday and has the power to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary and the seemingly mundane into the deeply sacred. Contrary to popular belief, it's not something reserved for monastics nor does it require us to sit on a pillow for hours in silent meditation. Join Chris and Sue Hagen for a four-week series introducing contemplative practices as a way to deepen our faith in surprising and challenging ways.

Upcoming Topics in our Contemplative Practice Series:
November 19: Sustaining A Contemplative Stance - Practices that empower the person that God desires you to be.
