To help kick off Operation Military Cheer into December, BIA Cares is hosting a Donation Collection Cook Out at the BIA!
All Members Welcome!

Bring a new, un-wrapped toy(s), coffee donation or cash/credit card donations to attend.
BIA Cares will be grilling a lunch of burgers, hotdogs and other tasty treats. Enjoy lunch while mixing and mingling with fellow BIA and BIA Cares Members!

OPERATION MILITARY CHEER 2017
IS ON!!!
BIA Cares is excited to bring you Operation Military Cheer, a toy drive for KY National Guard families & children in need, both deployed and non-deployed. This program helps Kentucky families! Your donations of new, unwrapped toys for children (infant - 17), new clothing, and cash donations will be collected at the BIA Office until December 12th.
Personnel from the KY National Guard will arrive at the BIA Office on Thursday, December 14th at 10am to collect the donations and then distribute them to Kentucky Military families. This is wonderful event with Santa, Soldiers and a lot of toys! All Members are welcome to attend and help load the military vehicles. Bring your kids/grand kids!

BIA Cares Coffee Collection Drive for the Lexington Rescue Mission
|
Each year, BIA Cares collects coffee to donate to the Lexington Rescue Mission right before Christmas. This long standing tradition helps the local homeless shelter during their busiest time.
Donations will be collected at the BIA Office until Dec. 20th. Bring some with you to the cook out!

Join the BIA Remodelers Council next Wednesday at the BIA Office for a special 2018 Remodelers Council Executive Committee Executive Committee Officer Induction, Lunch Sponsored by K-I Lumber, and presentation by local attorney and BIA Member,
Thomas M. Todd, on construction contracts and law.
Mr. Todd, who served as the Home Builders Association of Kentucky's legal counsel since 2007, will present on:
- Types of contracts
- Details a contract needs to include to protect the Remodeler
- Change Orders
- Breach of Contract
- Remedies & more

The Annual BIA Salute to the Stars was held at the Embassy Suites on November 16th. Central Kentucky's finest realtors, builders, remodelers and suppliers/vendors were honored for their accomplishments and contributions to our industry this year and throughout their careers.

The BIA's trade school, The Building Institute of Central KY's Fall Semester is in Full Swing!
The Building Institute has students to hire in the plumbing, HVAC and electrical trades!

New Classes!
A variety of classes are available on the
BIA Central KY education calendar. Topics range from First Aid & CPR to Scaffold Safety, Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, OSHA 10 and various other safety areas of importance.
REMINDER: Builder & Remodeler Members must complete 8 hours of continuing education each year, with 2 CEU minimum in safety to maintain Membership status.
