Celebration of Community November 15
The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation will host the Celebration of Community on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, from 4-6 p.m. at NewBo City Market, 1100 3rd Street SE, Cedar Rapids. The Celebration is a free event that recognizes how philanthropy and the work of nonprofit organizations are making a positive impact on Linn County. 
A short program will be held from 4-4:30 p.m. (Please arrive before 4 to find a seat). We will recognize the accomplishments of two nonprofit professionals who have been selected for their outstanding contributions to the nonprofit sector. The 2017 Nonprofit Excellence Award recipients are:  Nonprofit Leadership Excellence Award: Shannon Ramsay, Trees Forever; Minnie Rubek Staff Excellence Award: Tara Richards, Brucemore.
We will also be celebrating the stories of over 30 good people doing good work in our community. Find a complete list here . Please RSVP by November 10 here .

Giving Tuesday Awareness Campaign
The purpose of the Community Foundation's #GivingTuesday efforts are to: 
1) Raise local awareness of #GivingTuesday through social media images available to area nonprofits.
2) Encourage local giving with the hashtag #GiveWhereYourHeartIs.

AmeriCorps NCCC Seeks Request for Proposals
AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is a federal team-based national service program for men and women ages 18 to 24. Corps Members serve a full-time, ten-month term, working on projects to meet community needs in five main service areas: disaster services, energy conservation, environment, infrastructure improvement, and urban and rural development. The North Central Region is requesting proposals for community service projects. The first step in applying, the Concept Form, is due on November 17, 2017 for project dates March 12-April 27. Household Survey: Flood Impacts in Linn County/Cedar Rapids
The Resilient America team is working with Linn County and Cedar Rapids to better understand the impacts of flooding in our community. In 2016, a similar phone survey gathered information on the baseline resilience in our area. This fall's survey is to understand household experiences during the 2016 flood event as well as new efforts and initiatives. Please invite households to participate. Find more information here. Planning Your Way to Successful AFP Donor Retention: A Self-Assessment Workshop

CLA Learning Opportunity: QuickBooks Tips & Tricks and Capital Campaign Management (CFO Peer Group)
