2017 College Football Hall of Fame electee Bob McKay (Texas) was honored Oct. 7 with an NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute, presented by Fidelity Investments, during the Longhorns' game against Kansas State.

A consensus First Team All-American in 1969, McKay guided Texas to a perfect 11-0 season and the national title after defeating Notre Dame in the 1970 Cotton BowlClick here to read more about McKay.

During the NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salutes, each inductee returns to his alma mater or school where they coached to accept a Hall of Fame plaque that will remain on permanent display at the institution. McKay will officially be inducted during the 60th NFF Annual Awards Dinner at the New York Hilton Midtown on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The event will be streamed live on ESPN3.

The NFF would like to thank College Football Hall of Famer Doug English (Texas), NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell, Texas Men's Athletics Director Mike PerrinNFF Board Member Corbin Robertson and Fidelity Investments Vice President Clarence Stallings for taking part in the on-field presentation. The Indianapolis Colts  retired  the number of 2017 College Football Hall of Fame electee and 1997 Campbell Trophy ®  winner Peyton Manning (Tennessee) during their game Sunday, a day after unveiling a statue of the famed quarterback during a ceremony on Saturday. NFF Chairman and College Football Hall of Famer Archie Manning (Ole Miss) and Olivia attended the ceremony honoring their son, and they are pictured in front of the statue that now sits outside Lucas Oil Stadium.
On Oct. 7, First Team All-America running back  Trevor Cobb and NFF COO Matthew Sign returned to the field at Rice to be recognized as the Owls 2017 Honor Jerseys during the Rice-Army game.  Beginning in 2012, the Honor Jersey initiative has sought to directly link great Owls from the past with current players on the squad, by having the new players change their number to that of the former revered player.

Sign defied any preconceived notions that his 5-10, 220 pound frame would not hold up in the middle of Rice's defensive front wall, twice earning First Team All-Southwest Conference honors at nose guard. He led Owls' linemen in tackles in each of his four years and currently ranks fifth in school history with 36 tackles for loss and sixth with 14 sacks. The Owls didn't have to look far for the perfect candidate to honor Sign, as current Rice nose tackle Zach Abercrumbia already wears #96.

Click here for the full FPCI for Week 7.

Compiled weekly during the season, the FPCI is a proprietary analytical look at the current state of the chase for college football's national championship. The FPCI aims to rate college football teams by their real-time percent chance to make the national championship game -- a dynamic metric that no other poll or ranking system measures.

The FPCI also includes the cost of a Fan Plan for each team. A Fan Plan is a one-of-a-kind indemnity product fans can purchase for their favorite team. If that team goes to the national championship game, Fan Plan pays for the fan's game tickets and travel costs, up to the total coverage value of the Fan Plan. Each Fan Plan has a $1,000 coverage value and fans can buy additional coverage in $1,000 increments, up to $10,000 in total coverage. Fan Plan costs are dynamic and change based on each team's real-time odds of making the championship game.
