Call for Internship Offerings
RISE Worldwide

Research groups from all over the world interested in hosting a German research assistant in the summer of 2018 are invited to submit project offers to RISE worldwide by Dec 15th, 2017 . The German interns assist in research and lab work and receive a DAAD scholarship.


Call for Applications
EMGIP Bundestag Internship

EMGIP (Émigré Memorial German Internship Program) offers internship opportunities for U.S. and Canadian students in the German parliament, the  Bundestag . The internships are two months long and student interests are matched with the position.  Application Deadline: September 15, 2017.

The German Center for Research and Innovation (GCRI) is hosting the Falling Walls Lab, a global forum for innovators to pitch their research and business ideas. Entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers will present their ground-breaking projects and business plans in three-minute pitches.

Michael Prokle

Michael Prokle is a Data Scientist at Philips Research North America working on health care related projects. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research which focused on supply chain optimization in manufacturing & aerospace. As a GAIN advisor, he helps German researchers connect and grow their network in the United States.

Dorothea Maetzel

Dorothea Maetzel is currently working as Senior Scientist at Northern Biologics, a young Biotechnology company in Toronto trying to develop antibodies for the treatment of cancer. As an advisor of the German Academic International Network (GAIN), she helps promote the importance of mentorship for fellow researchers.

Work alongside Nobel Prize Winners

A study by the German Rector's Conference and DAAD found that German universities employ over 40,000 researchers. This includes PhD students who are often employed by their institute, earning between 1,000 and 1,400 Euros per month, allowing them to completely focus on their research - exchanging ideas with Nobel prize winners included.

Yes, if you have not been living in Germany more than 15 consecutive months by the time of application deadline, you may still apply for a DAAD scholarship.

UAS7 Study and Internship Program (SIP)

Deadline October 1st, 2017 :

UAS7 (Seven German Universities of Applied Sciences) invites students who are currently enrolled in Canadian and U.S. colleges to apply for the Study and Internship Program (SIP). Successful applicants will be eligible to study for one semester at a UAS7 member university or receive a short-term internship placement at one of our university laboratories. Successful applicants are automatically considered for the UAS7 Travel Scholarship of 1,000 EUR to cover transatlantic travel expenses.
