North Bethany Main Street Urban Design Plan underway
An Urban Design Plan (UDP) for the North Bethany Main Street area is being developed by the Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) with assistance from a project advisory committee (PAC) comprised of community stakeholders.
The UDP will include design and dimensional building standards for the 13-acre Main Street area including orientation and setbacks, height limits, articulation and facade treatments, off-street parking and loading requirements and streetscape elements.
The North Bethany Main Street Project Advisory Committee (PAC) includes members of CPO 7, developers and agencies, such as Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, which has a park within the area on Kaiser Road. PAC members will review and provide comments on drafts of the plan. Two open houses - one in winter and one in spring - will be held to solicit public comment on the drafts.
A land use ordinance for adoption of the North Bethany Main Street Urban Design Plan is expected to be filed in spring. Once the ordinance is effective, LUT can begin accepting development applications for properties within the Main Street area.
Comment on the proposed Southwest Corridor light rail route options
An online open house on proposed route options for the Southwest Corridor light rail line is available for public comment through Nov. 22.
Metro staff is asking for public input on the potential routes between Portland and Tualatin. Participants will use an interactive map to view options for four portions of the proposed route including:
  • Southern portion between Tigard and Tualatin
    • Adjacent to the railroad?
    • Adjacent to I-5?
  • Downtown Tigard
    • Single route through downtown?
    • Route that branches in two directions?
  • Center portion
    • On Barber Boulevard?
    • Adjacent to I-5?
  • Northern portion
    • On Naito Parkway?
    • On Barber Boulevard?
Comments received in the open house will help Metro staff create an initial, single route proposal that will available for public review in early 2018. Southwest Corridor Plan
