NaNoWriMo-Come Write In!

Platinum Room
The Moline Public Library will be a host site for this year's NaNoWriMo contest to write a novel in a month. The library will provide a quiet space for you to write on Mondays from 2:00-7:00 p.m., with a final session on Thursday, November 30 to help you get to your goal.

LEGO Robotics

Students in grades 4-8 can learn the basic LEGO Robotics as part of the Project Next Generation grant. Create commands and modify them to have your robot compete in a sumo-bot contest. Attendance at all three sessions on November 6, 13, and 20 is recommended. Registration is required and space is limited. This program is developed pursuant to a Library Services and Technology act grant administered by the Illinois State Library using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. Then, attendees will view an hour long segment of Ken Burns' Vietnam documentary series. The Library's Veterans Day Tribute is sponsored by RIA Federal Credit Union.
