Summary
The goal of the webinar is to share information with health care providers who work in rural areas about the importance of understanding occupational respiratory health exposures. Come learn more about the types of environmental hazards that farmers may experience and how those hazards can impact their respiratory function. Practice using a respiratory specific health assessment tool to better guide conversations with your clients who are working in agriculture.
 
Objectives 
At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Identify the importance of an occupational health history and a respiratory specific health assessment tool 
  • Discuss the respiratory hazards and symptoms associated with agricultural activities 
  • Implement the respiratory health assessment

Presenter

Sarah Hunt, BAN, MSN, FNP-BS

Ms. Hunt completed her Bachelor's degree BAN at Augustana University, Master's FNP at Regis University, and is currently pursuing her DNP through Regis University. Sarah's DNP capstone project has
included working with AgriSafe helping primary care providers feel more confident when caring for agricultural producers specifically regarding respiratory health. She has spent time, teaching farmers at the Agricultural Outlook in Spencer Iowa, and completed the AgriMedicine Course at UNMC.
