A Message from the Headmaster

KFerdinandt
Dear Families,

As we enter Thanksgiving week, we have much for which we ought to be grateful to God. Especially in a culture where so many feel and express a sense of entitlement to all they have, we must always thank God for the gifts He has given us - including sufficient food, clothing, and shelter. We thank God for our freedoms and our good health. We thank God for our specific gifts of intelligence and artistic or athletic talent - they come from Him, and we offer them back to Him!

The sincere gratitude of this community has struck me ever since I arrived. I routinely hear Thank You's out of the mouths of our students, which means that their parents are giving them a good example of gratitude. People express their gratitude by giving back in the form of voluntarism, by supporting our Annual Fund (e.g., through a recently very successful Aggie Give Day), and by thanking those who buy raffle tickets from them.  People hold doors for each other on the way into the school, and they express their gratitude by paying it forward to the next person who arrives.

As we begin this Thanksgiving week, let me express our school's gratitude to you on behalf of our faculty and staff members. To current parents, we thank you for allowing us to partner with you in the raising of children in faith, reason, and virtue - your children are a gift to us that we are privileged to serve. To alumni and alumni parents, we thank you for your contributions to your (or your son's/daughter's) alma mater, both past and present - we stand on your shoulders as we continue to strive for excellence in all things. To grandparents, benefactors, and friends of the school (and for those who are all three), thank you for your generosity in support of this faith and school community - without your prayers and financial support, many of our students would not be able to attend Saint Agnes School.

God has smiled on this school for years and years, most certainly because of the prayers of Saint Agnes herself! May we always do our best to live up to the greatness of Saint Agnes herself and to be grateful for the gift of the school and parish that bear her name.

In gratitude for all He has done for me and my family through this Saint Agnes community,

Dr. Kevin Ferdinandt
Headmaster
