Transgender Day of Remembrance
Monday, November 20, 2017
Transgender Day of Remembrance, which occurs annually on November 20, is a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia and to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community. Join the UCSD community in mourning and celebrating members of the trans community during our Community Altar Space, happening between 10AM and 4PM in the LGBT Resource Center Conference Room, as well as the memorial event at The Center in Hillcrest from 5:30PM-8:30PM. Point Foundation Scholarship
The Point Community College Program inspires LGBTQ community college students to fulfill their ambitions of attending a four-year college or university.
Students accepted into the program will receive up to a $3,700 tuition scholarship, admissions counseling, coaching and financial education at the Point Community College Transfer Symposium in Los Angeles, and access to the Point Foundation network of LGBTQ scholars, more than 300 alumni, and many others dedicated to seeing LGBTQ students succeed. Conference is a queer college conference for Latinx/Chicanx/Indigenous/PoC, with a focus on people who self-identify with the Latin/South/Central American diaspora or Brown or Indigenous. People of all genders and sexualities are welcome to apply to attend Saturday's events. Friday's opening is free and open to all.
Anyone who applies by December 1 will be given priority seating! Attendance will be capped at 150 people.

Coming Out Group Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30PM Small Meeting Room | Women's Center The Coming Out group is a place to meet and gain support while discussing your sexual and/or gender Identities in a confidential setting. This group is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, straight, or questioning folks who are coming out, considering coming out or may already be out. Topics are determined by group participants and can include stress, fear, anxiety, loneliness, family/cultural issues, excitement and celebration with regard to coming out. The group is open to new members the first 4 meetings of each quarter and then closes to maintain safe space. The free screening of "A Litany for Survival: The Life and Work of Audre Lorde" is open to the San Diego community and will be followed by a brief film discussion and open mic. Care at SARC Peer Educator Application
We have extended our deadline! Join our team as a valuable CARE Peer Educator! Applications are now due November 26, 2017 before midnight.
Help educate others and change campus culture. Topics covered in our program include healthy relationships, understanding consent, and bystander intervention. You'll leave the CARE Peer Education Program having strengthened your leadership and public speaking skills.
Applicants must commit to attending an orientation retreat on Saturday, January 27, 2018, as well as our weekly Tuesday meetings from 11:00am- 12:30pm.

The Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services offers math and science workshops to students led by a tutor who explains course concepts and encourages a collaborative learning environment. Current programs include MATH3C Study tables, located at Center Hall 375, Mon-Fri (10am-4pm). Drop in writing tutoring is also offered, where tutor and student will review writing prompts, brainstorm ideas and read papers for clarity and structure.
