Happy Halloween! VTrans has funding to help women and minorities pay for training related to highway construction. Here is the latest list of offerings.
Introduction to GIS - Vermont Tech

November 27-29, 8am - 4pm, Randolph Campus

This three-day course covers the basics of ESRI's ArcMap and ArcCatalog applications, which includes the collection, creation, manipulation, and display of spatial data in ArcGIS. This training is appropriate for a beginner.

Complete the EDHC subsidy application for tuition assistance. Eligible and approved applicants will be responsible for $25 of the tuition cost and VTrans will pay for the rest.
Qualified Signal Person & Basic Rigging - New England Crane School

January 22, 2018, 8am - 4pm - Montpelier, VT

March 3, 2018, 8am - 4pm - Burlington, VT

This is a full-day class which meets the requirements of OSHA's 2010 standard for third-party qualification. Participants must pass a written and practical signal test, and a written rigging test in order to receive their certification card.

Green Mountain Technology and Career Center (Hyde Park): Introduction to Welding, Tuesdays at 5:30pm for four weeks starting November 14, 2017
 
Hartford Area Career & Technology Center: Basic Welding, Mondays & Wednesday 6:00pm-9:00pm, 4-week courses starting November 27, 2017
 

North Country Career Center (Newport): Basic Welding, Mondays & Thursdays 5:00pm-8:00pm, January 22 - February 22, 2018

 
Stafford Technical Center (Rutland): SMAW Welding Level II, Mondays & Tuesdays 5:30-8:30pm, January 8, 2018 - February 12, 2018
 
Vermont Tech (Randolph): Basic Welding, Saturday and Sunday, November. 4-5, 2017, 9:00am-4:00pm

Online OSHA Safety Training

CDL Training

We offer funding (up to $1,500) for women and minorities interested in pursuing their Commercial Drivers License. Training is offered through the six state-approved Commercial Driver Training Schools. Applicants must be 18 years old and have a valid, Vermont drivers license.
