Dear FJA Parents and Students,

In cooperation with Jewish Family Services, FJA invites you to a special screening of the documentary film " THE S WORD Documentary: Opening The Conversation About Suicide , " which will be showing at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the Maple Theater in Bloomfield Twp.

The documentary chronicles the story of a young woman who survived a suicide attempt and her determination to find fellow survivors and record their stories of unguarded courage, insight and humor. The result of her journey is, "... the discovery of a national community rising to transform personal struggles into action."

As FJA prepares to celebrate UMatter week beginning next Monday, the timing of this important documentary is fortuitous. Mental health is no less important than physical health, and as a schoo,l we are committed to help raise awareness and provide resources for mental well being..

Because of its importance, JFS has arranged special pricing for Frankel families: For a parent and child attending together, the cost is of two tickets is $20; a parent attending alone will pay $18.

Please make your check payable to Frankel Jewish Academy. Reservations are required. You may RSVP to Elektra Petrucc i through email and drop your check off at school.

We have provided a link to the documentary's website for more information. We hope all families will take advantage of this opportunity to educate themselves on a national epidemic that is completely preventable.

Kind Regards,

Frankel Jewish Academy
