Cerebral Palsy Can Be Diagnosed By 6 Months Of Age, Study Finds
[Source:  Disability Scoop]

Cerebral palsy can be accurately diagnosed by 6 months of age, researchers say, yet kids often aren't flagged until they're 1 or 2, potentially losing out on valuable early intervention.

In a study looking at a half-dozen scientific reviews and two sets of clinical guidelines from experts in the field, researchers found that doctors can make a reliable diagnosis of cerebral palsy in the first months of life.

Early School Starts Times May Influence Teen Mental Health Issues
[Source: Psych Central]

University of Rochester researchers have discovered that starting school before 8:30 a.m. may place adolescents at higher risk for depression and anxiety.

The finding is provocative as researchers say early start times elevate risk even if a teen is doing everything else right to get a good night's sleep.

Psychiatry Jack Peltz, Ph.D., a clinical assistant professor in psychiatry led the study which appears in the journal Sleep Health. He believes the findings reinforce the theorized link between sleep and adolescent mental health.
