WCAC warmed by generosity
Annual Coat Drive benefits agency's littlest clients
Worcester, Massachusetts - Worcester Community Action Council's annual Coat Drive for Kids was able to deliver new winter coats to all of the children enrolled in the agency's Head Start, Early Head Start and Healthy Families of Southern Worcester County programs, as well as provide for the children of teen parents enrolled in the agency's Job & Education Center.

Thanks to sizable in-kind donations from employees of National Grid, Commerce Bank, AllCom Credit Union and Avalon Marlborough, coupled with a corporate sponsorship of $2,500 from the TJX Companies, WCAC was able to distribute over 400 new winter coats. Additionally WCAC graciously accepted a donation of new hats and mittens from National Grid's Community Outreach team.

This is the eleventh year WCAC has conducted the Coat Drive, established to alleviate the burden of buying a new winter coat for ever-growing youngsters of the vulnerable families WCAC serves.
