Dear PJ Families,

Although the holiday of Thanksgiving is just around the corner, PJ Library is already planning for Hanukkah. This month, your child will receive an age appropriate book about Hanukkah, as well as an eight-page packet that includes Hanukkah recipes and "light" themed activities. It is my hope that these resources will help you get ready for the holiday in your home. One of the activities, Share-the-Light Goodie Bags, is an opportunity to help create a little ray of sunshine for a neighbor in need. I encourage you to use this activity as a precursor to Thanksgiving in addition to Hanukkah. There is always someone that could us a little pick-me-up!

Although baseball season is wrapping up, here at the Dwares JCC, the warm sentiments that baseball brings are still in season.  We are proud to host the "Chasing Dreams: Baseball and Becoming American" exhibit from November 6 to December 15, 2017.  The exhibit depicts the story of how Jewish and other minority players navigated American culture and faced the ongoing challenges of life in the United States. It features historic photographs and memorabilia including local archives and personal collections.

To help us remain in the baseball spirit, join us in the lobby on November 15 at 4:30pm, when Paws and Sox from the Pawtucket Red Sox pay us a visit. They will even share some PJ stories with us!

As always, be sure to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Wishing you and your family a holiday filled with gratitude,

Best,
