Dear St. John Paul II Families,

The end of the semester is here and I think everyone will agree that these last few months have definitely brought many challenges to our community. Earlier in the fall, I mentioned that difficulties often are an opportunity for us to share Christ’s love with one another, and I continue to be humbled by how often I see this within our special StJPII community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your constant prayers and support of one other. We are so blessed to be able to give, even now during this season of Advent.

Today we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, so I leave you with this prayer from our patron, St. John Paul II:

O Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, grant to our homes the grace of loving and respecting life in its beginnings, with the same love with which you conceived in your womb the life of the Son of God. Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair love, protect our families so that they may always be united and bless the upbringing of our children.

Our hope, look upon us with pity, teach us to go continually to Jesus, and if we fall help us to rise again and return to him through the confession of our faults and our sins in the sacrament of penance, which gives peace to the soul.

We beg you to grant us a great love of all the holy sacraments, which are, as it were, the signs that your Son left us on earth. Thus, Most Holy Mother, with the peace of God in our consciences, with our hearts free from evil and hatred, we will be able to bring to all others true joy and true peace, which come to us from your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who with the Father and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

Lastly, we are looking forward to celebrating this Friday with Mass, Caroling, and Class parties! All students may wear Christmas attire! Remember, Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m., and dismissal will be at 12:00/12:15/12:30.

I wish you a blessed Christmas Season as we pray, wait, and anticipate the birth of Jesus!

In Him we Trust,
