FALL 2017
Thanks for the Welcome
Our new president/CEO, Jeanne Tedrow, traveled throughout North Carolina in her first 90+ days on the job, meeting Members, boards of directors, supporters, and sustainers. Read about her travels, her impressions, and her plans for the Center.
Tax Reform Implications for Nonprofits
This fall, Congress is in the process of rewriting the Internal Revenue Code with the dual goals of lowering individual and corporate income tax rates and simplifying our nation's tax laws. This tax overhaul has major implications for 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Get the highlights (or lowlights)  and stay informed.
It's All about Relationships
Fundraising is not just about getting donations, it's about getting donors. Sit down with fundraising guru Kim Klein to talk about relationship building - what it is, what it has to do with fundraising, and how nonprofits can leverage it to build better relationships with their donors.
Marketing Plan Must-Haves
No matter what method of marketing and fundraising you're using - print, tv, online, social media - if you're not integrating your messages, you're missing supporters and donors. npENGAGE's Nonprofit Marketing Plan Must-Haves: Integration and Automation outlines useful steps on how to integrate your marketing and create successful strategy and processes around automating it to reach and engage more supporters.
Inspired New Hires
The more diverse the people in your organization, the more points of inspiration it will contain, notes  Hiring: It's About Cultural Contribution, Not Cultural Fit. Hiring strong cultural contributors - not just those who are a cultural fit - fosters diversity that drives a more innovative, competitive, vibrant, and lasting organization that thinks critically about its existing culture in terms of what's lacking and where it wants to go.
Step Up Your Technology Asks
Nonprofit technology budgets are notoriously small, so it's no wonder that upgrades and new equipment are difficult to get. How to Ask for New Technology for Your Nonprofit offers guidance on how to make the case for your organization.
