MILTON ONE ACT WINS REGION COMPETITION
Congratulations to the Milton Theatre Department for
winning the
GHSA Region 7A One Act Competition! Their performance of RIPCORD was judged as the best amongst a very talented group of schools. Individual awards include:
Best Leading Actress: Mary Caroline Owens
Best Supporting Actor: Jackson Fuchs
All-Star Cast: Laura Sidwell & Autumn Bristow
The troupe will be competing in the state competition next Friday and Saturday! GOOD LUCK to everyone and continue to #ReptheM!

SCREENAGERS MOVIE VIEWING
Milton High School, along with our SGC and PTO, is hosting a FREE viewing of the documentary "SCREENAGERS" on Monday, November 6 at 7:00PM in the MHS Auditorium.
This event is intended for parents, but parents are welcome to bring their child (5th graders and up). The event is free, but seats are limited. Please arrive early to ensure seating. SEMESTER EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
Student exam exemptions are intended as an academic incentive.
- Students in grade 9 through 12 in yearlong courses are able to exempt
s
pring semester exams only
.
- Students in grade 9 through 12 in semester courses are able to exempt fall and spring semester exams.
The following guidelines determine exemptions:
-
NO ISS or OSS during the current academic year
- 90+ average - honors/AP points INCLUDED
- End of course tests may not be exempted.
Teachers will inform students of their exemption status on the Friday prior to the week their semester exams are scheduled.
Q&A
- What grade levels can exempt? All grade levels.
- How many semester exams may be exempted? As many as the student is eligible to exempt.
- Can I exempt first semester exams? Only if it is a one semester course.
- Can I exempt an End of Course test? No. The EOC is a state mandated exam.
- Can I exempt a semester exam in an AP course? Only if you meet the eligibility requirements.

INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR
We are pleased to announce that on November 2, from 6:00-8:00PM, Milton High School together with Alpharetta, Cambridge, Chattahoochee and Roswell High School will have an INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE FAIR in the Alpharetta High School Media Center. 3595 Webb Bridge Road, Alpharetta, GA 30005. AWARD OPPORTUNITY for YOUNG
WOMEN INTERESTED in TECHNOLOGY
The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) honors women in grades 9 through 12 who are active and interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to pursue their passions. Award for AiC recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post-secondary education. To date, nearly 8,600 women have been honored with the Award for AiC. The multi-tiered award structure includes winner, honorable mention, and certificate of distinction designations at national and regional levels, serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and all U.S. overseas military bases. Regional Affiliates are hosted in 75 locations nationwide by NCWIT Alliance member organizations -- a powerful, national network of universities, companies, non-profits, and government organizations working to increase the meaningful participation of girls and women in computing. JUNIOR ADVISEMENT CONTINUES
Attention Juniors and their parents/guardians: Starting mid-October and running through the end of the semester the Counseling Department will be holding their Junior Advisement appointments.
These are individual meetings with juniors and their parents to review progress towards graduation, post-secondary options, college planning and more. Invitations to Junior Advisement are being mailed home. We look forward to meeting with our Juniors.

There will be an ESCAPE THE BUS session offered during every class period November 14, 15, and 16. You will be excused from class to participate in the Escape Bus. If you choose to participate in the Escape Bus during your lunch period, you are choosing to miss lunch. There is a limit of 13 students per class session. If you want to participate with friends, make sure you sign up for the same day/time/session. To sign up to participate in the Escape Bus experience:

- OSP returns to the assign student screen where you can now select the student and assign to the activity and press next button. (If multiple students do for each student).
- Next enter your address and payment information - press next button to proceed
- Enter your card button
- Click review order button
- Click place order button
- Once transaction is complete, OSP will email you a Thank you message and the order number.

FENCING FUNDRAISER
The Milton High School Fencing Club provides students the opportunity to learn the sport of fencing. Beginners as well as experienced fencers are welcome. Fencing is an individual as well as a team sport where participants compete in tournaments with other schools. Good sportsmanship is a cornerstone of Milton Fencing team.
To raise funds for equipment, tournaments, referees and clinics, the MHS Fencing team is selling HoneyBaked Ham gift cards - perfect for the holidays!

On Saturday, the Milton Marching Band earned

Grand Champion"
honors at the North Georgia Marching Band Championships held at South Forsyth High School. With a score of 96.6, the band had the highest score of the day at the event which was held indoors due to weather and scored on music performance only.

COED COMPETITION CHEER
Congratulations to the Milton Coed Competition Teams for another wonderful weekend! The Red Team had their final performance for the season. They finished the season with three 2nd place finishes and three 1st place finishes. The Blue Team finished their regular season with two top 3 placements and four 1st place finishes. The Blue Team now prepares for Coed Sectionals next week. Please come support these amazing athletes at Peachtree Ridge High School on Saturday, November 4; the competition begins at 12:00 pm.
