Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

Dear Living Water,
     In the earliest days of being a pastor, my mentor and good friend, Pastor Paul Lundborg shared this wisdom: "Most of us pray only two prayers; the most frequent of these being a singular word: 'Help!'"
     Lord, please help me: pass this test....get pregnant...get this job...make this sale...figure out how to parent this child...beat this cancer...fix this marriage....complete 4 hours of tasks in 2 hours...forgive myself...face my addiction...break free from this depression....
     Church, what 'help' prayers have you been praying lately?
     The past month, it's become very obvious that God is blessing the efforts of our church at reaching out and sharing the message of Jesus with our neighbors in Barron County. September saw our worship center and children's ministry explode with growth. There are beautiful new faces, everywhere! It is beyond humbling to see what God is accomplishing through our willingness to love and serve our way into the hearts of those who are searching for a church to call home. God is so good!
     You may already know this, but I'm a firm believer in praying very specific prayers. To that end, here are (3) 'help prayers' I've been praying the past month:

     **Worship: Lord, raise up at Living Water, 5 people willing to take turns stewarding our AV system on Sunday mornings.
     **CORE: Lord, touch the hearts 5 people you are eager to equip for helping me on Wednesday's from 3:30-5pm, disciple our 40+ incredibly  awesome CORE kids.
     **Ned: pour into me an even larger measure of your Holy Spirit, that I might lead LW with the wisdom and clarity our church needs to be an even bolder witness to this community of God's amazing grace.

     Pastor Paul's other prayer? Again, a singular word: "Thanks!" Because I have seen it happen too many times to believe otherwise, I say in advance, "Thank you, God!"
     * For how God will be answering these 'help' prayers of mine;
     * For each one of you and the multitude of ways you step up every day and serve others through Christ;
     * For your willingness to be used by God in newer and greater ways to bless his church, transform hearts, and reach even more families in our neighborhoods with the Good News of Jesus.

Living for Jesus!

-Ned

GROUPS
Change happens in circles, not rows.  That wisdom is given expression best in the groups we form at Living Water where life is shared with a few trusted companions on the journey.  This fall I'm inviting each of you to consider starting or joining a group at Living Water.  Financial Peace, Women's Wednesday evening study, Women's Monday evening study, Fermenting Faith, Women's Small Groups....in addition to the one you are thinking of starting but have just been waiting for the right time or nudge.  God needs you to be the spark that lights the fire for change in the world that God loves and where you live.  Questions?  Give me a call!  - Pr. Ned

Even the most routine part of the day can be a spiritual act of worship when you are living close to God, and seeing from His perspective will allow you to truly be able to "give thanks in all circumstances" (1 Thessalonians 5:18).  Sign up at Clipboard Central to purchase a book & become part of this 8-week study!

 Meet the Living Water Family of the Week
Names: Tim, Jen, Addysen & Alayna Goodlet

Something interesting about our household:
Tim is a turkey farm manager and we live on "home farm" which is the original turkey farm that started the operations of what today is called Jennie-o!
How we became connected to Living Water:
A friend told Jen about their 2016 VBS experience and how awesome it was for the kids and how the church seemed like they're all about the kids.  So we 'tried out' Sunday worship in September 2016 and never looked back!
What we like about Living Water:
Where do we start?!  We like how welcoming and comfortable the church is - everybody greets you with a smile and the kids are allowed to be kids.  We also love Pastor Ned's messages each week and how relatable they are to our own lives!
