Fall Membership Meeting Registration Deadline Nears
The 2017 Colorado PGA Fall Membership Meeting will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Heritage Eagle Bend Golf and Country Club.
The deadline to register is Wednesday, October 11, at NOON. Members will earn 4 MSR
points for attending the meeting and education session.
PGA of America Secretary Jim Richerson, PGA, and Clayton Cole, PGA, former Head Professional at Cherry Hills Country Club, will highlight the Fall Membership Meeting. Richerson will provide a PGA of America update as part of a panel discussion while Cole will be available for a fireside chat.
Be sure to register for the golf tournament following the meeting. The format for play will be a modified Pro-Pro-Pro-Pro scramble. After the start of each hole, the player's shot selected for the team will "sit out" during the play of the next shot. This will be repeated until the team has holed out. All players must register individually for the golf tournament.

Colorado Awards Gala Set for Oct. 27 at Colorado Golf Club
The 2017 Colorado Section Award Winners represent an exceptional group of PGA Professionals. Join them at the Awards Banquet to honor their service to the Section and to the game of golf.
The Gala is being held on Friday, October 27, at the Colorado Golf Club in Parker. Cocktails begin at 5:30 followed by dinner. The program will start at 7:30 p.m.

Pro-Assistant Championship Rescheduled at Colorado Golf Club
Due to inclement weather on Monday, Sept. 25, the Pro-Assistant Championship scheduled at the Hiwan Golf Club has been rescheduled for
Monday, October 30, 2017, at Colorado Golf Club.
Due to the time of year, the HARD DEADLINE to register for the event is Friday, October 20, 2017.

Johnson Just Misses Exemption into Senior PGA Championship
PGA Member Chris Johnson's performance throughout the 29th Senior PGA Professional Championship at Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, had him within a stone's throw of qualifying for the 2018 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. He started the tournament by posting a three-under 69 followed by 74, 74 and 75 for total of 292, putting him in a tie position for 38th. The top 35 and ties qualified for the Senior PGA Championship.
Doug Rohrbough, Ironbridge Golf Club, Rick Cole, Eaton Country Club, and Bill Loeffler, The Links Golf Course, all made the cut, finishing at 293, 294 and 299, respectively. Barry Milstead, Valley Country Club, made the 36-hole cut but failed to make the 54-hole cut.
Ron Vlosich, PGA Member, Michael Zaremba, Desert Hawk at Pueblo West, and Mike Northern, PGA Member, missed the cut following the second round.

The Rocky Mountain Golf Sales Association will be holding its 2017 RMGSA Golf Merchandise Show on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 10-11, 2017. Participants will receive two (2) MSR points for attending.

Bishop Gets Mobility Devise to Stay in the Game
The day finally arrived when Jim Bishop turned the key on his new Paragolfer. Jim has been a participant of Wellshire HOPE for a couple of sessions. Wellshire Head Golf Professional Kirk Mease spoke about The Stand Up and Play Foundation's program offered by Anthony Netto and how they work with Veterans to provide golf carts. Jim now has a mobility device that will allow him to stay in the game.

GOLFTEC announces the opening of its remodeled and enhanced Denver Tech Center location, a flagship facility that was the site of the original GOLFTEC more than 20 years ago. The company will host a Halloween-themed Grand Opening on October 30.
