Economic Development Strategy for Media Borough

ESI led a team to prepare an economic development roadmap for the Borough of Media, PA, to maintain and promote its economic health . Using a data-driven approach and working with the community, the team developed precise recommendations for a number of areas including economic development, retail attraction, placemaking, transportation, and marketing.

ESI Assists with Amazon HQ2 Applications

ESI assisted several area local governments with their proposals to Amazon for the new HQ2 location. We worked with Delaware County's Redevelopment Authority, Camden's Cooper's Ferry Partnership, and Philadelphia Commerce Department and PIDC team on their applications. We also helped Team PA with Pennsylvania statewide analyses. 
CDA Releases Series of Updated Demographic Multipliers

The Community Data Analytics (CDA) team of ESI has released a series of reports which cover the 50 states and the District of Columbia. These reports offer new and improved demographic multipliers which serve a critical role in development impact studies.

Cashless Cities: Realizing the Benefits of Digital Payments
 
Visa commissioned Roubini ThoughtLab to conduct independent research to analyze and evaluate the effects of digital payments on cities worldwide. The results show that increasing digital payments could result in total direct net benefits of US $470 billion per year across the 100 cities studied - netting around $4.7 billion to each city per year. Gregory Byrnes'   organization, NMBio, hosted the successful launch of the inaugural Knowledge Fair & Expo with 50 speakers and 150-200 attendees. they will host next year's event in September 2018. 

Catherine Timko joined the board of the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator and Canal Way Partners in Cleveland. She will also be attending the International Council of Shopping Centers' New York deal making event in December. 

Joel Naroff spoke on trends at The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) Global Philadelphia Summit on November 6.
