The Pilates Connexion

HOM is hosting an intergenerational postcard painting party for a campaign entitled "Why I Vote Local." Participants will make postcards to remind people about the importance of voting in this upcoming local election. Spend some relaxing time painting with watercolors and help get out the vote for November 7.

9:30 am - 1:30 pm along Station Square West.  Featuring nearly 20 local artisans and craftspeople. Rain date is November 18.

Small Business Saturday, a day to shop small and shop local. Visit our Facebook page for updates on sales and promotions. We are pleased to partner with Swarthmore's Boy Scouts Pack 112 who will be selling their holiday wreaths on Small Business Saturday. Come show your love for Swarthmore Town Center!

Video Lecture Series: The Symphony
Wednesdays in November, 2 to 4 pm
In this Great Courses video lecture series, music historian Professor  Robert Greenberg guides the listener through a survey of the symphony,
from it's inception as a classical form to the modern era. You will learn  about the composers and the masterpieces they created, some well-known and  others overlooked and in need of our attention. This program made possible
through a grant from Swarthmore Borough for Aging in Place services.

Thanksgiving Floral Design
Monday 11/20, 2 to 4 pm
The Swarthmore Garden Club will lead a flower-arranging workshop to build  beautiful cornucopia centerpieces for the Thanksgiving table. All the  flowers and materials will be provided for. Early registration is  recommended since space is limited to 12 attendees. This program made  possible through a grant from Swarthmore Borough for Aging in Place
services.

PAWS for Reading
Thursday 11/9 & Thursday 11/30, 6:30 pm
Children can come to the library and practice reading to the best listener  - a dog! Three therapy dog teams will be at the Swarthmore Public Library  to meet with beginning and reluctant readers and to listen to children  (Kindergartners and older) read a book of their choice. This is also an  ideal opportunity for English language learners.

Children's Book Club
Tuesdays in November at 4:15 pm
Ages 7-10, come join us as Ms. Perri reads a chapter book aloud! Plus, we  draw pictures, act out scenes, and talk about what we like and don't like  about the story.
December 2: Home for the Holidays & Santa 5K Run

Home for the Holidays is Swarthmore's annual holiday tradition featuring horse-drawn carriage rides, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, a visit from Santa Claus, dreidel games, a Kwanzaa-inspired drum circle, food trucks, hot cocoa and mulled wine, carols led by the Swarthmore Ukulele Orchestra, and so much more! Home for the Holidays will take place on Saturday, December 2.  Visit our website regularly for updates on the schedule of events.  

This year will also feature the inaugural Santa 5K Run through the streets of Swarthmore on the morning of December 2. Come dressed as Jolly Old St. Nick, his reindeer, or elves! All pre-registered runners will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt to commemorate their participation. To learn more and to register for the Santa 5K Run, visit this Bryn Mawr Running Company link.  

Advanced tickets for the Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides ($10 per person) are available for sale at this link. Tickets will NOT be available for walk-up purchase on the day of the event.

Saturdays in the Park: It's the Swarthmore Farmers Market!

Awarded "Best in Class" in 2016, the #1 Farmers Market in Pennsylvania occurs every Saturday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm in Swarthmore's Central Park. In addition to beautifully-raised fresh produce, meats, and dairy from area farms, the market offers an array of locally-made specialty food items.
