There's plenty to do this month around town, from a frighteningly good time for our youngest residents to maybe learning a new sport for the grown-ups! Perfect time to celebrate the season right here in Sandy Springs!
Behind the Fence at City Springs
During the weekend of the Sandy Springs Festival, close to 400 people toured the City Springs construction site getting a sneak peek at what's to come! Mayor Paul and members of the City Council served as docents, highlighting the
features of the new development.The crowd was wowed by the Performing Arts Center, City Hall and the green space and forthcoming public art. City Springs is scheduled to open Summer 2018.
Open House Planned for Intersection Improvement at Grogans Ferry
The City will host an Open House on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. to provide the community with a look and gain feedback regarding plans to improve the intersection at Roswell Road and Grogans Ferry. The goal of the project is to improve safety, mobility and access management at the intersection.  

Thursday Developer Meetings Now Open to the Public
During the adoption of the new Development Code, the City committed to allow the public the ability to view the weekly Thursday developer meetings that take place in the Community Development Office at City Hall. Municipal Elections November 7, 2017
The deadline to register to vote in the November Municipal Election is Wednesday, Oct 10, 2017 . Early voting is scheduled for October 16 – November 3. The only contested race is in District 4 between Jody Reichel and Le’Dor Milteer ; however, all Fulton County voters will have the opportunity to select the county’s next Chairman.

Spooky Springs!
Celebrate Halloween in Sandy Springs on  Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Abernathy Greenway Park! Join our costumed characters for a not-so-frightful evening filled with the fun sights and sounds of Halloween! Residents in adjacent neighborhoods are strongly encouraged to walk.

The City Pays Tribute to our Veteran's
The community is invited to pay tribute to our Veteran's. This year's event will take place on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Veteran's Memorial at the Concourse Corporate Center.
Free Pickleball Clinic
Want to learn a new sport? Make new friends? Why not get into the swing of things and check out one of the fastest growing sports: Pickleball! Register for one of the free clinics on Thursday, October 12 and 19 at 6 p.m. at Hammond Park Pickleball Courts.

Water Sampling at Big Trees
Every year, students from Springmont Montessori make Big Trees Preserve their classroom as they learn about World Water Monitoring Day. Members of City's Stormwater division teach the children how to test the quality based on turbidity, pH level, temperature and dissolved oxygen.

Going Batty! Discover Nature Fall Lecture Series at Lost Corner
Learn about the fascinating bats that are common to our area, why they're facing extinction, what is being done to save them and how you can help too! The program is scheduled for Sunday, October 15, 2017 Note*: This program will be held at a special time  5:30-7:00*  to allow for sunset bat viewing over the Lost Corner gardens.
Cost: $10 per family or $5 per person
