SCCS STUDENT SERVICE DAY
Today, close to 300 Sandusky Central Catholic School 6th through 12th grade students participated in the annual Fall House Service Day. Students traveled to many locations in the area including Care and Share, Erie County Senior Center, Back to the Wild, Stein Hospice, Habitat for Humanity-Workshop and ReStore, and OVH.

GIL KROMER MEMORIAL 5K
Saturday, November 11, the Teen Leadership Corps Class is hosting the 3rd annual Gil Kromer Memorial 5K Run/Walk at Osborn Park. Registration begins at 7:30am, with the 5K race at 9:00am and the Mile Fun Run at 10:00am. This race is in memory of Gil Kromer, a former SCCS student, who passed away unexpectedly in October of 2014. All proceeds benefit the Gilbert David Kromer Scholarship Fund, established at SCCS. GRANDPARENT AND SPECIAL PERSON DAY
Thursday, October 19 is Grandparent and Special Person Day for students in kindergarten through grade 8. Mass is at 8:00am at St. Mary's Church for grades 1-8, kindergarten students will not attend Mass but will be ready to accept visitors at 9:00am. After Mass, grades 1-8 grandparents may walk over with their students to visit classrooms. All grandparents and visitors are then invited at 9:30am to stop down in The Den for coffee, pastries, and conversation.

TRUNK OR TREAT VOUNTEERS
We are looking for parent volunteers to decorate their trunks and pass out treats at Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 28 before the SMCC vs. Fremont St. Joe football game.  A $25 gift card will be awarded for the best decorated trunk!  Please contact Denise Matthews at 419-357-1337 or puppytracks02@buckeye-express.com  for more information.


AFTER SCHOOL PICK UP PROCEDURE REMINDER
For parents picking students up after school, we ask that you continue to pick- up students using the proper procedure. We are noticing a large number of adults gathering by the main entrance and would like to ensure a smooth, timely, and safe dismissal for all students. If you park your car to pick up your student in person, we ask that you stand on the Decatur Street sidewalk where the busses park and wait for your child to cross in the crosswalk at the appropriate dismissal time. We thank you for your cooperation.

BOX TOP DRIVE
Girl Scout Troop 50284 is conducting a Box Top Drive the week of October 9 for preschool through grade 5. Students are asked to bring in an envelope or zip lock bag with their name, teacher's name, and the number of Box Tops inside. The classroom that collects the most Box Tops will win ice cream party!
 
CAFETERIA HELP NEEDED

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP
The Ohio Charity Foundation is offering a $1000 Knights of Columbus scholarship to Catholic high schools in Ohio. This scholarship will be applied to your 2017-2018 tuition. Applicants must be a 9-12 grade student, practicing Catholic, at least 2.5 GPA, and have financial need. All applications must include a transcript.
