FITNESS NEWS 
Snow Delays For Fitness Classes

In the event of snow that results in schools closing or being on a 2-hour delay, the 7:15am and 8:20am classes will be cancelled. The 9:35am classes will continue as scheduled. Please call the front desk regarding the cancellation of any evening classes due to snow. 

Keeping up with the Industry 


Barbara Duke, NASM Certified Trainer, ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Functional Fitness Specialist, Posture & Mobility Specialist and Senior Strength and Conditioning Specialist attended 8 hours of continuing educational programs that provided live sessions and pre-approved credits related to "Strength and Conditioning for Seniors."

The schedule for this Exercise ETC Inc. workshop for fitness professionals included the following:
"Core Training For Seniors"
"Age Appropriate Strength Training"
"Functional Mobility Drills"
"A Dozen Practical Activities for Seniors"

The workshop combined physical activities to help improve balance and mobility to achieve strength and conditioning goals.



Kate Latimer completed her Nia Blackbelt Training with Nia co-creator, Debbie Rosas, in Portland, OR, this past September!  The Nia Blackbelt is a week-long movement intensive and the culmination of the four-belt Nia Training System.  It's focus on creativity supports the intent to achieve "Mastery of the Basics" in the principles of the Nia Technique.  For Kate, this was both a completion and a new beginning in her 13 years of practice at a Nia teacher and she has come back from Portland with renewed energy and vitality as well as new skills to share in her classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5pm!

USTA Update

The fall 40 & Over USTA season is winding down. We would like to thank all of our captains for their fantastic job! We would also like to thank everyone for participating and being terrific ambassadors for the club and tennis program. 

AND a special congrats W 4.0_Barry as they are currently leading their division and in the running for district playoffs!

Santa Fe Sports Med Logo

Santa Fe Sports Medicine welcomes Eric Payne, PT, DPT, OCS to our staff. He joins the clinic after moving to Santa Fe from North Carolina upon retiring after a 30 year career as a commissioned office in the Army and US Public Health Service. Eric graduated from the US Army Baylor University Graduate Program in 1992. He later went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy through Baylor University in 2007. Eric has been board certified in orthopedics through the American Board of Physical therapy Specialties since 1999. His clinic interests include manual therapy, dry needing and therapeutic pain education. Outside the clinic, Eric enjoys hiking and biking with his wife, as well as pursuing creative endeavors involving ceramics and sculpture.He looks forward to learning more from the great artists that reside here in Santa Fe.
