Worship This Weekend
FCC Stained Glass

Rev. Jim Warren will be taking a break from preaching this weekend, so Holly Irvin will be preaching at both services about Luke 24:13-35, the story of the walk to Emmaus.

As always, music will be excellent, with hymns led by our Chancel Choir and a beautiful gift of music, "On Eagle's Wings," at the 9:00 traditional service.  At the progressive 10:15 One and All service, the band will keep us singing along and worshiping to the beat.  As you gather, and anytime during the service, grab a cup of coffee and a light breakfast.  Bring a friend!

This Sunday is about our children and youth!  Sunday School begins (students K-12 should meet in the sanctuary at 10:15 and teachers will take students to their classes).
The first session of Youth Group meets 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. We will have a Cook-Out and Water Games/Softball. Be prepared to get wet!

A message about Gifts for Another Table:
September is the month we collect items for St. Vincent De Paul.  Non-perishable food items needed include boxed rice dinners, pasta and sauce, potato dinners with sauce, Hamburger Helper, instant mashed potatoes, and canned vegetables and fruit.

Reminders
Things to Do While
You Are at Church

Bring a travel-size item for Operation Santa (a Disciples Women's effort) for military men and women and leave it near the Information Center.  See The Messenger for details.

Pick up a flyer at the Information Center for the Monical's Pizza fundraiser for the King's Carpenters on Tuesday, September 19.

Sign up for the Wednesday Supper Club's September 20 meal.  Indicate on an attendance pad how many will be attending the 5:30 supper at Avanti's on East Empire in Bloomington.  You may also call the church office at 309 829-9327 by 4:30 Monday, September 18, to RSVP.

Bring your Box Tops for Education for Bent School.  Place them in the Disciples Women's Ministries mailbox near the office and they will be taken to the school by May Jackson.  Thank you!

Check In on Facebook while you are at church.  And at the One and All service feel free to use your device for social media, to share photos and thoughts about your worship experience as it happens.

Make a new friend!  Greet a visitor.  Show folks around and help them with questions they might have.  Invite them to worship and/or to share fellowship over a cup of coffee or breakfast treat.  The bulletin is a great source of information for visitors, as is the Information Center.  Let's be a welcoming church!
