NEW! Alert: Recent Guardian Life PFL letter does not pertain to
UNY churches
Guardian Life has sent a letter to churches of the Upper New York Conference regarding NYS Paid Family Leave (PFL). Because most of the information in the letter DOES NOT PERTAIN TO UNY CHURCHES, we are asking recipients to disregard and destroy the letter so that no further misunderstandings occur.
Simply stated: The Upper New York Conference will arrange for and provide Paid Family Leave coverage for clergy and lay employees of UNY churches. There will be no cost assessed to local churches in 2018. There should be NO withholding from salaries. There is information on the UNY website on the
Church Employers page. There will be a new page created with more details once we have claim forms with an accurate claims address. Continue watching Conference Communication channels for more information.

Concert to benefit African Widow's project.
(A free will offering will be received.)
Thanks to the generosity of the people of Aldersgate, we helped start a widow's project called, "Hindura Ubuzima" (which means Change Life) in Uganda in the Nakivale Refugee Camp. On November 10, 2017 they started to teach the widows to sew so they can have income generating work and become self-sustaining.
The next step in the project is to purchase a permanent building to house the on-going project. The goal is to raise $3,000 to accomplish this next phase.

NEW! Geneseo United Methodist Women present their annual HOLIDAY BAZAAR on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, at the church at 4520 Genesee Street (Route 63 and Court Street), Geneseo.
Handcrafted items are made throughout the year by a dedicated group of women. They include placemats, potholders, pillows, dolls, stuffed animals, wall hangings, Christmas ornaments and items, fresh and artificial greens arrangements, and much, much more.
Baked goods and jams, jellies, and other "pantry" items will also be available. Our café will also be open, serving a delicious variety of homemade soups and pies.

Spaghetti Dinner at the United Methodist Church of Livonia, 21 Summers Street, Livonia, the second Wednesday of every month - next one is December 13th.
Spaghetti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread and finger food desserts. Gluten free options are available too. Adults $7; children 10 years and under $3. Serving 5:00-7:00 pm
