TOKLAT GALLERY

Hello My Friends,

The book. Originally when I gave the book to the editor some months ago, I thought publication would be in time for this Christmas. And then in July I received that stupendous gift of scanned images and I was off and running. Toklat will be 70 years old in June 2019 (when in fact there will also be celebrations of the Aspen Music Festival, and the 100th  year of Bauhaus - make your room reservations now!). You will learn of my plans  for Toklat's celebration  by the drip, drip, drip method through the blog which I will have up and running on Toklat's website by the end of the month .  Then  this newsletter will become just about beautiful art  and events  in the galler y Save the Date!  December 8 for holiday celebrations (tree lighting) in Basalt and at the Gallery.   The newsletters, by the way, are archived on the website. So here is my pledge: the book will be comprehensibly edited, fully illustrated and beautifully printed by June 2019!

The photos. Oh my such a gift. Doug Franklin is burning up the scanner and I am finally one step away from having the archiving excel spread sheet ready for data input. Think of me toiling away all through those cold winter nights! I have worked with the Aspen Historical Society to have a document that will be as easy as possible for them to integrate into their data base - for eternity! Here with a teaser photo.

Trips down memory lane. Next week friends are coming to the gallery to help me go through six boxes  in search of more photos (poor Doug!) and items to put into the third and final scrapbook of Toklat  memorabilia. I am counting on these three scrapbooks to help me with dates and places in the archiving
process.
