Help for Puerto Rico: They need bug spray!

League member Miriam Velez has been reaching out to Hispanic organizations on behalf of the Broward League. Eventually, we want to conduct voter registration, particularly with newly arrived Puerto Rican residents who are US citizens and can register as soon as they establish residency here.

Right now, however,  Puerto Rico needs urgent aid . The Puerto Rican Hispanic  Chamber of Commerce of Broward County told Miriam about one item that aid organizations have overlooked --  mosquito spray , Without power or air conditioning and with standing water everywhere, Puerto Ricans are suffering with mosquitoes.

Miriam is collecting money for mosquito spray and will buy it in quantity at Costco, to be delivered to the island by members of the Puerto Rican Chamber. At your next League event, look for a collection point and please donate to this fund.
