Meet our Staff!



Cathy Hay is our Executive Director. She started ACES and oversee's 4 ACES sites around the Valley. She has 2 grown children and is married to her greatest supporter, Jon!
Corey Hull is our Bigfork site coordinator. He has a background working with kids in a group home setting, along with his wife and 3 children. He is proud to be a part of ACES and enjoys working with your kiddos!
Melissa Schnurr has been with ACES for 3 years. She is ACES food service manager and idea queen. When you walk into ACES and smell that wonderful smell of a home cooked meal you really learn to appreciate all she puts into it. She does a wonderful job and loves your kids!
Lanny Miller  is currently attending FVCC for Early Childhood Development. She has a big heart for the "littles"! (Those are your children) She loves working in a place that she feels is giving back to the community and working for a purpose!
Rachel Whitney has been with ACES for the last 2 summers and is a senior and Bigfork High School. This is her first year for working afterschool for ACES. She is helping your Kindergarten and 1st graders earn their badges!
Kim Coleman is here to work with your middle schoolers because they are so fun! "They help you keep your sense of humor and not take the world so seriously!" Kim says. She has been coaching volleyball and basketball at Bigfork Middle School for several years.
Jesse Johnson is one of our High School Students that is new to our team this year. She has been working with children at Big Sky Bible Camp and at the Summit in Kalispell. She came to ACES because she loves interacting with children and guiding them along the way.
Skye Thoreson is also a new addition tand part of our your middle schoolers. You might know him as the Choir Director for Bigfork Middle and High School! The kids love him and we are excited to have him with us!
It's Tamarack Time!

Downtown Bigfork
An old fashioned celebration of harvest! 

Food tastings, harvest decorations and entertainment. 

Specials are being offered by Bigfork Merchants all day long.
Birds of Prey will be on display next to Showthyme.

FREE pumpkin carving fun at Montana Scene - NOON

Food tasting starts at 1:00pm and tickets are only $5.00 for Tamarack Members (you can sign up to join there) and children under 5 are free. 

Then stick around for the Oktoberfest celebration at the Garden Bar where you can get free beer and brats for Customer Appreciation starting at 2pm.

If you want to enter as a contestant or a judge, call Toot Sward at 837-7283.

ACES students will be working hard on their apple themed dishes for this event and our staff will be managing the "Kids" booth. Judging will begin at noon, stop by and see how the ACES kids did!

ACES Student of the Week!

Kierstin Young

Kierstin loves to make slime at ACES. She is a 3 rd grader who is always seen smiling and giving to others. She is very quiet, loves make up and just loves doing what girls do!

Q U E S T C L U B

New October Badges!

October is in full swing, which means we have started earning new badges! Ask your child which badge they are working on this month!

Penpals - ACES kids are learning what it is like to be a penpal and are reaching out to other children in Australia!

Natural Disasters - We are learning about the different kinds of disasters that take place and what to do if one happens in our community.

Foods - Not just about eating! We are discovering where our food comes from and the process it takes to go from the ranch or farm to the grocery store.

Crafts - Kids are discovering their creative side and learning how they can make something out of anything they find in the environment around them.

We are having a great turn out so far with this new program! Skye Thoreson and Kim Coleman are leading the way and providing fun activities, food, and tutoring! If you have a middle school student that wants to join in on the fun, please contact us for more information and a registration form!
