FROM ASB
Fundraiser for YouthCare Update
As of November 9th, we have raised $341 for our fundraiser for YouthCare. ASB's mission this year is "It Starts With You!" Our actions make an impact on the greater community. That's why we, as a school, are donating to YouthCare, a local nonprofit working to end youth homelessness in Seattle.

Our goal for this year is to raise $4000 plus other needed items. If each ICS family donates $10, we can accomplish this goal. The fundraiser will continue until the end of the school year.

Be on the lookout for special events to raise proceeds for YouthCare, or  donate to YouthCare online. Make sure to include "ICS fundraiser" in the Comments section so we can keep track of contributions from the ICS community. Donations are tax deductible and eligible for a company match. Biweekly progress updates will be posted in this newsletter and tracked on the thermometer on the ASB bulletin board at school. Thank you for your support!
Key Club Food and Clothing Drive for YouthCare
Key Club is seeking donations of non-perishable food items, gently used clothes, sleeping bags, new socks or underwear, and new toiletries for YouthCare, a Seattle organization that provides services to homeless youth. In addition to helping homeless teens with essential supplies and resources, your donations also earn points for your child's grade. At the end of the food and clothing drive, the grade with the most points will be awarded a pizza party. Collection bins are in front of the ICS office, next to the lost and found. Your child should put items in the bin that matches his or her grade number. Please contact Mr. Plank with any questions. Thank you, again, for supporting YouthCare!
VOLUNTEERING
Nominating Committee Volunteer Needed
The role of the nominating committee is to recruit people for elected PTSA positions. This committee plays a vital role in PTSA's success. Having qualified people in leadership positions is paramount to fulfilling our mission. Committee work includes holding meetings, reviewing nominations, and searching for the best-qualified candidates for PTSA leadership roles. If you're interested in volunteering for this position, please contact the PTSA president.
Wanted: Pantry Packs Hunger Champion for ICS
Did you know that the Pantry Packs program feeds more than 800 students in need within the district each weekend? The Lake Washington Schools Foundation and Feed Washington are seeking coordinators at ICS to raise  funds and coordinate outreach. If you'd be interested in being a Hunger Champion for ICS, send e-mail to [email protected], and we'll connect you with the Feed Washington campaign director.
