Thanksgiving 2017 Closures

City of Mississauga offices will be closed on Monday, October 9th for Thanksgiving. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, October 10th. 

Parking Permits

Parking is extended for statutory holidays in Mississauga.  Park from 8 a.m. to midnight on Thanksgiving, October 9th.

EAB Street Tree Removal


Starting next week, City contracted Crews will be working throughout the Ward 3 community removing street trees infested with Emerald Ash Borer (EAB).

Crews will be working Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and all work is weather dependant.
 
All trees scheduled for removals have been marked with an  orange X. Crews will removal the tree stumps, repair the ground with topsoil and reseed.

All city-owned street and park trees removed due to EAB will be replanted within the community.

Upcoming MiWay 2018 Service Plan 
Sessions

From September 25-30, Miway will be hosting public information sessions about its 2018 Service Plan.

They will provide the public with more information on how MiWay will increase service levels along major corridors and introduce more express services to power the grid in 2018. The theme for the third year of the MiWay Five Transit Service Plan is "Powering the Grid".

Free Paper Shredding Event

Bring your unbound paper - such as taxes, bills, income statements and personal information - to a Peel Community Recycling Centre (CRC) for FREE shredding on designated days in September and October.
  • There is no limit to how much paper you can bring.
  • You're welcome to stay and watch as your documents are shredded.
  • Regular disposal fees apply to all other items.
  • Garbage, recycling or organics cart exchanges will NOT take place at paper shredding events.

Established in 2010, the Crime Prevention Conference is an annual event presented by Safe City Mississauga. The conference gathers together police, government officials, educators, social workers, crime prevention practitioners, and community organizations to discuss best practices for crime prevention, and to determine how to implement these practices to make our communities safer.
