CORPORATE SPONSORS

We gratefully acknowledge the ongoing contributions from the following corporate partners:

The Spirit of Service
Earlier this week, the MFCS Foundation Board met for their fall planning meeting. There they discussed the School's recent charter
approval,  general School updates, and elected this year's officers. The MFCS Foundation Board is populated by citizen fundraisers - folks who believe deeply in our mission and enjoy the challenge of seeking needed funds to make up the difference between state funding for our charter school, and real programming costs. Please join us in thanking those on the Board, and recognizing the work of that team:  Maria Law, Chair; Dave Sarvai, Vice Chair; Dan Calegari: Treasurer; Will Kanteres, SecretaryRachel Marziano, Member.

If you missed the September  Volunteer Trainings but
would  like to volunteer this year and have not attended a training in  previous years, please send us an email. We will organize additional trainings based on interest.

If you're not sure if you need to update your background check for this school year ,
please email Roxanne.

We are still looking for a Co-Coordinator for the 2018 Ski Club! McIntyre Mountain , our Ski Club partner, dropped off the information binder this week and they are eager to arrange our program.

Each year since our first, we've arranged for a MFCS Kinder class which is scheduled for Tuesday's 12:30-1:30pm and a MFCS Ski Club for our for 1st-6th year students which runs Tuesday's from 4-6pm. The Ski Club Coordinators are the communication point for McIntyre, helps organize the kids on Club days here at school at the end of the  school day, and coordinates with Ski Club Families to be sure there is adult presence at the Mountain each week.

We are looking for ONE more parent to fill the Co-Coordinator role this year, to assist our lead Coordinator. Interested in being a Co-Coordinator?

HUGE thank you to the MFCS Book Fair Set Up Team who worked all morning today to create a beautiful Fair! Please see the link below for details on the  upcoming  book fair  which  runs next week.

Practice Makes Perfect

Our Kinder students have begun working on their Practical Life skills, utilizing and strengthening their fine-motor skills.

To the right, you see their Geo Pumpkin Work. Students use a kinder-sized mallet to hammer golf tees into the pumpkin. From there they are work with rubber bands to create geometric shapes.

This is a great practice work that relates to the Montessori Geo Board which also explores geometric shapes and angles.
