DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

CCS Lifetime Achievement Award: 
Agency of Hope

On October 3rd, the San Diego Domestic Violence Council  honored CCS with a Lifetime Achievement Award as an Agency of HOPE:  An organization that embodies HOPE - Healing, Opportunity, Prevention and Education - in San Diego County.  

CCS CEO, Verna Griffin-Tabor alongside CCS leadership and staff attended the SDDVC DVAM kick-off event to honor survivors and reaffirm our commitment to work with our community  to end relationship violence.

Purple Thursday, October 19th 
Wear purple and show your support for survivors and for ending domestic violence! Join us by:
  1. Wearing or displaying purple on Thursday, October 19 to raise awareness about domestic violence. 
  2. Share a photo using the hashtag #PurpleThursday and tag @CCS_SD. 
Solutions for Safety
Make a direct impact by joining CCS next week when we launch our DVAM campaign, Safety for the Next 500 Survivors.  More info to come!

9th Annual All Car Lovers Show
Saturday, October 14th
All vehicles welcome - classics, hot rods, trucks and motorcycles at the Escondido Elks Lodge.  Lunch, silent auction and raffle included.  Proceeds support CCS. Registration and info here.     


21st Annual Bankruptcy T'ee Golf Tournament
Tuesday, October 17th
Coronado Municipal Golf Course hosts 20th Annual Golf T'ee Tournament with proceeds to benefit CCS.  Registration is still open. Details  here  


3rd Anniversary Gettin' Piggy With It Party
Sunday, October 22nd
Iron Pig Alehouse turns 3! Enjoy endless Pulled Pork Sammies, Pulled Pork Plates, Sides, Fries, Craft Beer & Mimosa's for $40 / $15 for kids.  A portion of proceeds benefit CCS. Get tickets here.

News & Updates

CCS is Expanding the Depth & Breadth of Our Services for Survivors
 

  • New funds awarded to CCS will create housing options for clients that go beyond emergency and long-term shelter.
  • CCS will now have a dedicated legal team at our North County office in Escondido.
  • A new partnership with the San Diego Community College District will staff a CCS Sexual Assault Victim Advocate at three SDCCD locations.  
  • CCS was awarded funds to expand and enhance services to survivors with disabilities and Deaf survivors.
