AN AFTERNOON OF EVENTS CELEBRATING 
ELEANOR ROOSEVELT'S 133rd BIRTHDAY

The National Park Service and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum are celebrating the birthday of former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt on October 11, 2017.

AUTHOR TALK (Register)
At 1:00 p.m. in the Henry A. Wallace Center, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library Museum will present an author talk and signing with Nancy Woloch author of ELEANOR ROOSEVELT IN HER OWN WORDS: ON WOMEN, POLITICS, LEADERSHIP AND LESSONS FROM LIFE. Following the presentation Woloch will be available to sign copies of her book. It is a public event, but registration is required for the 1:00 p.m. talk. Click here  to register.

ROSE GARDEN CEREMONY
The National Park Service will have a wreath laying ceremony at 3:00 PM. in the Rose Garden at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site in Hyde Park, New York.  Various organizations will be presenting wreaths in honor of Mrs. Roosevelt's 133 rd birthday. The speaker will be Mr. Al Vink, National Park Service volunteer, educator and former Chairman of the Social Studies Department for the Hyde Park School District. 

BIRTHDAY CAKE
Following the Rose Garden Ceremony the Roosevelt Library -- and the  4 A BETTER  WESTCHESTER  + NYS ASSOCIATION --  will serve birthday cake in the Wallace Center. 

All events are free and the public is invited to join the celebration.
