Celebrating our Seniors
With fall sports winding down and turning looking towards state tournaments, teams celebrated their senior athletes at their last home matches of the regular season. The varsity tennis team honored seniors Taylor Jenkins, Claire Revelle, and Rachel Bennett on Wednesday, October 4. The varsity soccer and volleyball teams celebrated their seniors on Thursday, October 5. Senior soccer players include Davis Buck, Hunter Hairston, Grayson Joyner, Wyatt Liverman, Jacob Parker, and Wyatt Whitley. The senior volleyball players are Cailan Carr, Alana Hull, Christiana Vaughan, and Grace Vaughan. We thank all of these athletes for all of their hard work and dedication over the years to Ridgecroft athletics!

Thankful for Our Supporters
On Wednesday, October 4, Headmaster Elton Winslow and the Ridgecroft Board of Directors hosted a Donor Reception at the home of Tim and Sandra Newsome to thank Ridgecroft's many supporters for their generosity over the past year. Guests enjoyed drinks and hors d'oeuvres on the beautiful banks of the Chowan River. Development Director Peg McLean took the opportunity to launch the 2017-18 Annual Fund campaign and Mr. Winslow issued this year's Headmaster Challenge to all Ridgecroft classes, past and present, to match his $1500 donation to the Annual Fund.

Testing, 1, 2, 3
The PSAT will be administered to all students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades on Wednesday, October 11, starting at 8:00 AM. Students should plan to arrive at school promptly and bring #2 pencils, a calculator, and a small snack. The test will take approximately 3 hours, including two 5-minute breaks. We encourage students to get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast before the test. Good luck to everyone and Go Rams!

Home Sweet Home
On September 25, Ridgecroft's growing cross country program experienced something new - a home meet! After years of traveling to races, the Running Rams welcomed fellow TIC cross country teams from The Albemarle School and Pungo Christian Academy to christened a new, 3-mile course adjacent to campus. Thanks to Beechwood Country Club for allowing runners access to its property for races. Ridgecroft looks forward to hosting more meets in the future and encourages students and friends to come out and support the Running Rams!

Recycle Your Used Markers!
Ridgecroft's 5th grade, in conjunction with Crayola, is coordinating a program called ColorCycle. Students will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. The markers will be sent to a facility where they will be converted into clean fuel used to power vehicles, heat homes, and more! Please send in any used markers, even non-Crayola brands, and deposit them in the drop boxes placed around campus. Thank you for your support!!!

Save the Date!
The junior class is excited to announce that it will be hosting the 1st Annual Ridgecroft Cornhole Tournament and Fall Festival! Please mark your calendars for October 27 at 6:00 PM and plan to join the fun. In addition to the tournament ($20/team), there will be a haunted house, a cakewalk, games, and concessions. Dinner will also be available. Registration forms for the tournament were sent home with students and are available in the front office. Don't miss your chance to join in on this exciting new tradition!
