Parent Referral Program
If you know a friend, family member or anyone looking for a high-quality, Christ-centered education for their children who do not already attend a Catholic school, you could receive a $50 credit toward your child's tuition at York Catholic, with a chance to win a $500 credit.

York Catholic's Parent Referral Program is a win-win for everyone involved. Referred students receive an outstanding education from York Catholic, while parents of the referred families get peace of mind knowing their child is gaining so much more than just a top-notch education.  Families who refer someone who registers at York Catholic receive a $50 credit towards their child's tuition.

You, as parents, are our best ambassadors.   In order for the Parent Referral Program to be a success, we need information about individuals who may be interested in joining the York Catholic family. All you need to do is click here to fill out the form. During the registration process, if you are listed as the referring individual for a friend or other enrolling individual, we will credit your child's account with $50.  In May, one family who referred someone who enrolled at YC will be randomly selected to win a $500 tuition credit.

It really is that simple. So go ahead. Please click on the link above and allow us the opportunity to do what we love - help to develop, nurture, and encourage children so they may grow in faith, mind, and heart. Mail or email the form to us and we will take it from there!

Thank you for all you do for our school!

PSAT Testing
Eleventh graders will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11.  For best results, students should have a good night's rest and eat a good breakfast on testing day.  Students need to come prepared with #2 pencils as a well as a graphic or scientific calculator.  The PSAT tests students on Reading, Writing, and Math, and is an invaluable practice test preceding the SAT.  Practice test manuals were distributed in homeroom three weeks prior to the exam, and sophomores and juniors are encouraged to take time to become familiar with the test format.  Any questions regarding the test or scoring may be directed to Mrs. Eva Hess in the guidance office at 717-846-8871 x232 or [email protected].

School Study Update
A message from Fr. Jonathan Sawicki, Chair, School Study Committee:

We are pleased to report the School Study Committee to Strengthen and Sustain Catholic Education in the York Deanery has completed the data gathering and interview stages and has moved into the analysis stage of its study.

All pastors and principals participated in individual interviews and each parish provided statistical data showing trends over the past 10-20 years.  Parish members and school families were invited to participate in our School Study survey and we received four times the amount of responses expected.  This collection amounted to over 150 pages of data to review.  Thank you for your input!  It will prove invaluable as we begin our analysis stage.

We will update you with our findings and recommendations when the committee completes its analysis. Your support throughout this process has been a blessing to the volunteers who are working toward Strengthening & Sustaining Catholic Education in the York Deanery.
Meeting for Music Parents
Parents of music and choral students are welcome to attend the York Catholic Music Association meeting on Tuesday, October 10, at 6:30 PM. The meetings usually last approximately one hour and everyone's input and feedback are welcomed and appreciated. Your help in planning and implementing the efforts of the YCMA are critical.
