Library Services for Children Journal Club

Children's Librarian Lindsey Krabbenhoft from Jbrary and another colleague from Vancouver, B.C. named Christie Menzo have started the Library Services for Children Journal Club. It launched earlier this week with a meeting in Vancouver, but the goal is for other interested parties to form LSC groups in their own areas. The November topic was Child Development and Executive Function. Participants had the opportunity to read and discuss two publications related to this topic. The goal is to "help children's library staff keep up-to-date and engaged with published research and new developments in the field of children's library services, and to think critically about the quality of the research that informs our decision making." What a great and innovative idea! The group has just posted its January topic: Evaluating Educational Apps.
