This Sunday, November 12
Living into the Future
Service Leader:  Rev. Margret A. O'Neall
Sunday, November 12, 9:30 AM & 11:15 AM
This has been a challenging year, with natural disasters and political turmoil abounding. What is our dream for a future of hope and justice for all people? What do we tell the children, about the past, the present and how we are creating a future of abundance for all?
Justice Ministries Table
At the back of the Sanctuary after each service
Please stop by the Legislative Action table to send postcards about current issues.  At the Green Sanctuary table, you may sign up to get our emails about environmental events in the valley and send a postcard to the governor to advocate for CHISPA's "Clean Buses for Healthy Ninos" campaign.
Opening Spaces. Making Inclusive Places.
Back of the Sanctuary after each service
Double down for the new front doors! Chip in to make the patio a beautiful gathering space!  Our renovations this year will help make this a truly inclusive congregation. We are off to a good start on this final round of funding and we've raised $124,454 so far toward our $300,000 goal.  Every pledge, no matter what size, helps us complete our capital budget funding.  Details are on the UUCP website at the link below or visit the table at the back of the sanctuary on Sundays to talk to a capital construction representative.

Quiet Time in the Garden
Starting now from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM in the Memorial Garden
Drop by the memorial garden before first service for a time of quiet meditation and reflection. From 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM guitarist Russ Braman and other musicians will intersperse meditative music with periods of silence. No need to arrive "on time." As long as you avoid distracting others, you are welcome to come, stay and go as you please.
Companions - A Pet Blessing service for all ages and species
Sunday, December 3 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Johnson Room
The creatures that share our homes and our lives are true companions for our lives.  Those loving relationships transcend the boundaries of species in our own small corners of the interdependent web.  We welcome and celebrate our furred, feathered, scaled and finned companions in gratitude and respect, and there will be a memorial table for photos and remembrances of pets that we have loved and lost.
Help Create Holiday Cheer for Local Families
Sunday, November 12 and 19 in the back of the Sanctuary
Support the Green Sanctuary group and Maryland School Project in November with donations of toys and food! Both groups will be set up at tables in the back of the sanctuary this Sunday. Green Sanctuary will provide tags with suggestions for toys that will go to families through our partnership with CHISPA, an environmental justice organization. The Maryland Project is putting together food boxes for families to use during holiday breaks when students aren't able to access free breakfasts and lunches at school. Drop off gifts and completed food boxes on November 19. Cash donations are also gratefully accepted.

Open Small Group
Thursday, November 16, at 7:00 PM in Annex B
Small Group Ministry is an ideal way to connect to others and tend to your heart and spirit at UUCP.  Life can feel like a frenzied struggle against a materialistic world, which leaves us feeling disconnected from our deepest selves and without the energy to reach out in love and service to others. They follow the monthly worship themes and offer a way to engage the themes in your daily life and grow and learn with a group while sharing your own story, insights and learnings.
Women's Ritual
