BSB 122     J. Morris Hicks     (11-9-17)
An Idea for Saving Humanity

Over the past week, there has been a great deal written about climate change by news organizations everywhere, ranging from the NY Times to USA Today

The big news is all about the Federal government's climate report that strongly links climate change to human activity. Apparently we have a law requiring that the report be developed and published every few years. The problem is that there is no law requiring the executive branch to take any specific action in terms of addressing the report's findings.

Hence, as reported by the NY Times today:  Trump Ignores Climate ChangeSo what else is new? Also in the news yesterday, Syria has joined the Paris Climate Accord, leaving ONLY the USA opposed.

The Bottom Line. We simply cannot depend on our government or other governments to come together and solve climate change. With the future of the human species on the line, we must figure out a way to act now.

And I have an idea for a solution that can possibly work. I explained it in an 8-2-17 BSB but just updated it today. You can find the latest version here. Please share this link with everyone you know.

Looking for Opportunities to Speak. Since 2016, my research and writing has been focused primarily on the sustainability of our ecosystem, our civilization and our future as as a species. With an emphasis on food choices, I call it the "most important topic in the history of humanity."

After all, what could possibly be more important to humans than the survival of our species?

The current title of my standard presentation:

Food. Health. Planet. Our Future as a Species.

Upcoming Talks: Upstate New York: Buffalo, Canandaigua and Rochester in November, Fort Myers, FL ( VegFest), in January and at the vsh.org in Honolulu and Maui in April. To view all 64 slides in my latest presentation,  click here
