COACH Q & A:
Name some items that you enjoy spending your money on to reward yourself for working hard?

Ms. Jenni

"Seeing new corners of the world is important to me.  A few years back I set aside money in my bank account so I could go to Turkey (it was an awesome trip!)  Since then, I make sure that I always have enough money in my "Turkey Fund" so that I can visit all the places that I want to see!"

Ms. Nneka
"I like to reward myself by buying a new piece of clothing, after I realize how good I have been NOT buying any clothing (or shoes) for awhile. I believe that lengthy periods of frugality should be rewarded by a little splurge from time to time."

Ms. Rachel

"A real treat for me is going to a concert. I love fully immersing myself in loud, live music!"

Ms. Fenise Dunson

" I am all about rewarding myself, its an important part of self-care.  I like to splurge on a night out or a spa day when I have really worked hard or accomplished a big goal.  For smaller goals, I treat myself to a day or night of binge-watching my favorite shows with my favorite snacks!"

Mr. Dennis

" I love to buy new sneakers with money that I earned. There is something rewarding about the smell of a fresh pair of sneakers when you first take them out of the box!"

Ms. Courtney
"I honestly don't treat myself often because I prefer to save up for traveling and vacationing with friends and family, but when I do reward myself it's usually by going to a nice restaurant or by buying tickets to a concert."

Shout out to Tendekai Gamanya

During her internship, she was able to assist in administrative tasks and shadow at the Deloitte Greenhouse. Additionally, she designed a lab that addressed the changes in the accounting industry, which would then lead to breakthroughs for the company in question. As a result of her performance, she was offered a second internship for Summer 2018!

She is already making connections with her professors and has joined an on-campus student organization as well!

Shout out to Natalie Herrera  (Salisbury University). Natalie recently made the decision to declare as a social work major after having such an amazing internship experience this summer at the Betty Ann Krahnke (BAK) Center, a domestic violence shelter for women and children in Montgomery County. Natalie learned about her passion through hands-on experience and is excited to volunteer at another domestic violence shelter in Salisbury this semester!

Shout out to Aisha Mughal  (Ithaca College). Aisha, was recently awarded the Exceptional Academic Award for a GPA of 3.5 and above, also actively participates in ALANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Native American) student organizations as well as other activities that support the success of ALANA students at Ithaca College!
