social media campaign for the entire month of November leading up to #GivingTuesday. Throughout the month, we will be sharing fun facts about all of our arts and cultural programs, events, facilities and initiatives – which would not be possible without the support of our corporate, foundation, government and individual donors, like you!

On Demand Call for Entry for Digital and Time-Based Media
Featured along with the 20+ illuminated sculptures on the 2018 BGE Light Art Walk, Light City will host
On Demand
, an exhibition of time based digital content. On Demand will host a curated program of looped video and time-based media content, exploring the range and diversity of experimental forms of cinema made locally and abroad. Creatives working across traditional and experimental short films, animations, poetronica, music videos, and other forms of digital media are encouraged to submit their existing works for consideration.

Registration Open for Light City's Brilliant Baltimore Program and
NEW Brilliant Baltimore - Community Showcase Program
Light City invites businesses and residents to participate in Brilliant Baltimore by illuminating their buildings in the official Light City colors of turquoise, lime green and hot pink. New this year, Brilliant Baltimore expands to include not only businesses and attraction downtown, but residential areas throughout the city through the new
Brilliant Baltimore - Community Showcase Program
. The community group with the most popular light display in their neighborhood will win $2,018 to put towards their community, with nine honorable mentions receiving $1,000 each.

Labs@LightCity Call for Ideas
BOPA invites the public to submit speakers, ideas, concepts and performances for Labs@Light City 2018, the social innovation conference component of Light City. A new restructured format combines the topics of Education, Green, Arts and Culture, Social, Health, Makers, Design and Food into a condensed four-day schedule. The Labs will again be shaped by a group of curators consisting of artists, activists, community leaders, executives and entrepreneurs, and will feature national leaders alongside local innovators. Baltimore Screenwriters Competition
Calling all screenwriters! The Baltimore Film Office is now accepting applications for the 13th Annual Baltimore Screenwriters Competition. Applicants can submit screenplays in the features and short categories. The top entries in both categories win cash prizes and the feature winners also receive all access passes to the 2018 Maryland Film Festival.

School 33 Art Center Presents Three New Exhibitions November 10

School 33 Art Center presents three new exhibitions:
Slow Form
, a juried group exhibition featuring Mary Baum, Mollye Bendell, Kei Ito, Elizabeth Mead, Lake Newton, Nick Primo, Margaret Rorison, Matthew Sepielli, and Doohyun Yoon;
Lost Earring
, an installation by Elliot Doughtie; and
Decompositions
, a solo exhibition of works by Chris Zickefoose. A free opening reception with light refreshments will be held on
November 10 from 6-9pm
at School 33 Art Center (1427 Light Street).

"Art of Jazz" at the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower November 11

The Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower presents "Art of Jazz," a solo exhibition of paintings by Tommy Roberts. In “Art of Jazz,” Tommy Roberts displays an art collection of jazz performers, inspired by the many people and artists that he has met or read about. A free opening reception will take place
Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 4:30 to 6:30pm.
The reception features a vocal performance by Elaine Foster and harmonica performance by Bruce Hartley.

Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar First Sundays: Holiday Art Expo

Underneath the Jones Falls Expressway at Holliday & Saratoga streets
Celebrate the holidays with an abundance of local crafters, artists, and artisans. Those looking for a unique gift idea can shop from dozens of local vendors selling handmade items like jewelry, wine racks, clothing and accessories, soaps and candles. Plus, there are plenty of trees, wreaths and greenery for decorating and seasonal food to give as gifts or use for holiday cooking. The market is open every Sunday through December 17, 2017.

Studio Artists’ Holiday Sale at School 33 Art Center
School 33 Art Center, 1427 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21230
Saturday, December 9, 10am-7pm
The sale features a selection of painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography and more from School 33’s studio residents and visiting artists. Visitors can get their holiday shopping done while supporting local artists and enjoying the three galleries at School 33. Works will be available for purchase at prices ranging from $10 to $200.
