UFTI Releases I-STREET Request for Information
The University of Florida Transportation Institute (UFTI) has released a Request for Information (RFI) to invite transportation industry partners, private sector developers, research entities, and innovators to express interest in working with the I-STREET testbed. Registration Open for the 2017 UTC Conference
The UFTI's STRIDE Center will be hosting this year's University Transportation Centers (UTC) Conference for the Southeastern Region, November 16-17, 2017, at the UF campus.
The conference is FREE
and open to faculty, students, practitioners, and public agencies in the Southeast.

UFTI Graduate Student Pedro Maldonado Completes Internship with AAAFTS
This past summer Pedro Maldonado interned with the American Automobile Association Foundation for Traffic Safety (AAAFTS) in Washington, D.C. Maldonado was part of the traffic research group and had the opportunity to collaborate with experts in the field of traffic safety and human factors. [

Upcoming Pavement Preservation Workshop - FREE
The T2 Center is working with Every Day Counts to host a Pavement Preservation workshop on Oct. 30 and 31, 2017. This workshop is ideal for roadway construction and maintenance teams and will provide participants with an introduction to pavement preservation.

T2 Center Seeking Instructors in Traffic Signal Systems and Traffic Signal Timing
Instructors should have a good understanding of operation and maintenance of traffic signals, and must be familiar with developing and implementation of isolated and coordinated traffic signal timing. Additionally, instructors should have a good understanding of the infrastructure needs and maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and operations.

WTS Symposium on October 18, 2017
The WTS student chapter at UF is hosting their annual signature event, the WTS Transportation Symposium, on October 18, 2017, from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Reitz Union, Room 2360, on the UF campus. The topic of this year's symposium is "Smart Cities." Expert panelists will be speaking on the topic of smart cities as it relates to a connected campus, the City of Gainesville and the City of Miami, the presence of autonomous vehicles, and policy implications.

UF ITE Student Chapter Adopts Highway
The University of Florida chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) recently joined the Adopt a Highway (AAH) program
from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).The ITE chapter at UF adopted 1.682 miles of 13th Street (US 441) from the milepost 19.485 to 21.167. [Click here] to read more about the AAH program and ITE's goals for it.

Three UF Students Receive WTS Scholarships
Three students from the WTS Florida Gator Student Chapter, also known as WTS Advancing Women, were awarded scholarships.
