PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAM ADDS PATROL VEHICLES TO FLEET
Westchase District Public Safety Director Don McKinney (left) and HPD Officer Diego Morelli take two new patrol vehicles for test drives.
The Westchase District Patrol is constantly on the lookout for property owners and tenants - now you can be on the lookout for them in two new specially-marked vehicles.

The District recently acquired two 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs, bringing the patrol's vehicle fleet to five. Just this week, the District retired one of its original patrol vehicles, a 2004 Ford Expedition with 172,000 miles and two engine replacements.

The District contracts with officers of the Houston Police Department to provide enhanced public safety in our area. Whether in vehicles, or on bicycle and foot patrols, officers respond to calls and work cooperatively to ensure the safety and security of the people who live and work in Westchase District. "This is a low-crime area and we're committed to keeping it that way," said Don McKinney. "We focus on security so you don't have to."

 PIE PUMPKINS VS.
 CARVING PUMPKINS
Not all pumpkins are alike: those big jack-o'-lantern pumpkins have thinner shells, stringier insides and more water than pumpkins grown especially for making pies. Fortunately, the sweet, smooth-textured pie pumpkins you want are in season and for sale.
 WHAT'S IN SEASON:
 PUMPKINS & SQUASH
Patricia D'Agrella from PEAS Farm in Conroe said that now is the best time to get your pie pumpkins as well as your winter squashes, such as acorn, butternut and spaghetti squash.  "And while they're not quite ready yet," she said, "greens are coming later this month, so get ready!"
Pick up your perfectly pleasing pie pumpkins from Patricia with PEAS!

RESIDENTS MINGLE WITH OFFICERS AT NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

National Night Out 2017 (Clockwise from top left): Residents enjoyed free tacos at Portico at West 8; managers at Camden Park chatted with a patrol officer; a young resident chowed down at Plaza at Westchase Apartments; and members of the FBI shared information in the parking lot at the Westchase Target.

Residents at more than a dozen apartment communities in Westchase District ventured beyond their soggy doorsteps last night to mingle with one another and with members of the Westchase District Patrol as part of National Night Out. Officers were on hand to answer questions, distribute safety tips and chow down with their fellow citizens as a way to connect with the community.

National Night Out is a free crime prevention awareness event that takes place annually in Texas on the first Tuesday in October. Since 1984, NNO has enhanced the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, bringing police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. More than 38 million neighbors in 16,000 communities across the country take part in National Night Out annually.
Westchase District is a municipal management district funded by local property owners in a 4.2 square-mile
area centered on the Sam Houston
Tollway between I-10 and US-59 on the west side of Houston, Texas.

The District promotes economic growth
