Now taking reservations for Thanksgiving turkeys!

Every year we partner with Buttonwood Farm in California, MO to bring our customers fresh, free-range turkeys for Thanksgiving. The turkeys are raised on pasture, with no added hormones or antibiotics.

The price will be $3.99 per pound, with sizes ranging from 15-19 pounds (hens) and 22-25 pounds (toms). Because these turkeys are raised on pasture, there's no guarantee on sizes. You may specify a size preference when you reserve your turkey, and we will order the number of hens and toms needed, but it will be first-come-first-served at the time of pick up.

We will have two pick up days this year. The turkeys arrive fresh, not frozen, on a truck with the farmer. We won't have room to store them at Local Harvest, so you will need to be available to pick up your turkey when the truck is at the store. The pick up days are Saturday, November 18 in the afternoon, or Tuesday, November 21 in the evening. We'll take your email address when you make your reservation so we can send you more details for the pick up.

To reserve your turkey, stop by or call us at Local Harvest (314) 865-5260, any day, 8 AM to 8 PM. We will require a $10 deposit per turkey, which can be paid by credit card over the phone. Online reservations will be announced soon.

Pumpkins Galore!

If you don't have time to make it to the pumpkin patch before Halloween, have no fear! We've got pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and colors here at Local Harvest.

We've got sugar pie pumpkins, bright Red Kuri squash, even the elusive heirloom Hubbard squash, among lots of others great for eating and decorating!

Join Weekly Harvest, Our Year-Round CSA

Fall is a great time to join our Weekly Harvest CSA and get a hand-selected box of local produce and goods every week. Each share features a local, pasture-raised meat or vegetarian alternative, local and organic produce, free-range eggs every other week, and a monthly rotation of coffee/tea, local grains, and local dairy.

Weekly Harvest runs year-round and does not require a long term commitment or prepayment.

We send out a weekly newsletter with recipes and storage tips to help you strategize and plan your meals. We also offer a 10% discount on additional groceries when you pick up your share (excluding alcohol).

Choose your options: omnivore or vegetarian, coffee or tea, weekly or biweekly pick ups, and your pick up day: after 2 PM Friday, any time Sunday, any time Monday, or Monday delivery (for an additional $5, to a limited area).

Double Up Food Bucks Continues

The popular Double Up Food Bucks program is still ongoing! Customers with SNAP/EBT Food Stamps may purchase local produce at regular price and receive a voucher for the same amount to spend on any local or non-local produce here at Local Harvest Grocery.

Local produce in our store is labelled with a green "local" tag, while non-local produce is presented with a white tag. Feel free to ask any employee for more information on the program.
