8th Grader Studies French Revolution

While examining the lead up to the French Revolution in social studies, the 8th Graders recognized three main causes of the French Revolution: The social inequality of France, the economic state of France, and the spread of the Enlightenment. Students explored primary source documents from the time period to fully appreciate what took place. To help demonstrate the three causes, students created puzzles to express the 3 part nature of the causes of the French Revolution.

Bat Mitzvah Project Benefitting Renewal

Dear Yeshivat Noam,
For my Bat Mitzvah project I am raising money for Renewal, a Jewish organization that helps people with kidney problems find kidney donors. I chose this particular organization because my father found a kidney donor in only three days after meeting with them. Renewal found an amazing man whose kidney was a great match for my dad. We were so grateful for this miracle. The surgery was a success, but unfortunately my dad passed away shortly after due to complications following the surgery. The money raised will be used to transport the donors if they live far away. It's also used to help promote awareness for kidney donation. Kidney donation saves lives and it is a huge mitzvah!

Please click here to donate to this worthy cause that has such a special place in my heart. This mitzvah is in honor and  memory of my dad, Jordan Levy, z''l.  Thank you!

Sincerely,
Mattea Levy
Bat Mitzvah Project Collecting Children's Books for Houston

Hi, my name is Sara Mirwis. I was born in Houston, Texas. I moved with my family to Teaneck 5 years ago (when my older siblings were headed to Yeshiva University). My family lived in Houston for 17 years. We lived in the Young Israel neighborhood. My dad still works there and commutes every week. I am SO SO SAD because of the hurricane. So many people and friends I know have been flooded and have lost all of their things : (

I decided that for my Bat Mitzvah I will collect as many children's books as possible and send them with my dad each week to the different neighborhoods and schools. That way all of the children of Houston can have books to read (and hopefully also keep them a little distracted from the sadness around them).
If you can donate a new or like new children's book you can help me with this project.

My mom said she can pick up from anyone's home if they need (her cell: 713-545-3684). OR, you can drop it on our front porch as well (1270 Fayette Street).

Thank you for reading this and thank you if you are able to help the children in Houston.
