Montgomery Twp/ShopRite Turkey Donation Program
Montgomery Township is pleased to announce that we are once again working with ShopRite of Montgomery on a Turkey Donation program for Thanksgiving 2016.

If you earn a free ShopRite Turkey* (see instructions at end) and would like to donate it to the Montgomery Township Food Pantry, the ShopRite Service Desk will easily take care of you.

You may sign up to donate your free ShopRite turkey during store hours through Friday November 18, 2016. Visit the ShopRite Service Desk. You will need to present your ShopRite Price Plus ® Card at Customer Service. The earned free turkey points will be deducted from your account and a turkey will be donated to the Montgomery Township Food Pantry Program. Its that simple!

Important note: Please do not drop off actual turkeys at the Montgomery Township Food pantry. We cannot accept perishable items. We have arranged a special program working directly with ShopRite.

About the pantry: We gratefully accept all non-expired, non-perishable food and non-food grocery and toiletry items. Items on our donation wish list for November include: canned tuna and canned chicken, meat stews, hearty soups, canned pineapple, canned pears, boxed pasta and jars of pasta sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, boxed cereal, laundry detergent, shampoo, dish soap, tissues, napkins, and paper towels.

We schedule appointments for donations deliveries or "open donation time" on Mondays between 8:30am and 9:30am and Mondays between 1:30pm and 4:00pm. Every Monday there is a shopping cart in Senior Center vestibule for leaving non-expired, non-perishable food or non-food grocery items.

We need and appreciate your support! The Food Pantry and Montgomery families having difficulty making ends meet are very thankful to have such a caring community willing to help in so many ways. Thank you!

You can contact the Food Pantry via email FoodPantry@twp.montgomery.nj.us or by phone 609-466-1054

-----------------------------------
*To earn a free turkey, just present your Price Plus® card to the cashier at the start of the order every time you shop at any ShopRite Supermarket starting Sunday, October 16, 2016 and you will be automatically credited. There is no need to save your register tapes.

Price Plus® club membership is required to participate in this program. If you are not yet a Price Plus® club member, sign up today . . . It's FREE and you get your card on the spot. You must use the same Price Plus® card number each time you shop at ANY ShopRite location.

Please note that while you can be earning credit at any ShopRite towards your turkey, in order to donate it to the Montgomery Food Pantry, you must go to the Montgomery ShopRite courtesy desk.

Again, thanks for considering this simple way to support other Montgomery families through the Food Pantry.

Monty Rec Annual Turkey Trot Nov. 20
It's time for Montgomery Rec's annual Turkey Trot. The event, which is for ages three and up, will be held Sunday, Nov. 20 at 1 pm at the Upper Middle School Track. No pre-registration is required. Events and prizes are divided into age groups for girls, boys, women, and men. The events will begin at 1 pm sharp, with the youngest runners racing first.
